Camps and Outdoor Education
At Emmanuel Anglican College we believe that some of the most profound learning happens when students step away from the classroom and immerse themselves in the natural world. Our comprehensive program is designed to foster resilience, teamwork, leadership and a deep appreciation for the environment. Our core program includes strategically placed Year Group Camps at Years 6, 7, 9 and 11, complemented by specialised Outdoor Education opportunities and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Outdoor Education is a methodology that uses the natural environment as a classroom to foster holistic learning. It moves beyond traditional subjects to develop crucial life skills, a strong personal identity, and an ethical connection to the Australian landscape.
Key benefits:
- Wellbeing & Resilience – Promotes physical and mental wellbeing through active involvement, building resilience and self confidence.
- Ethical Connection – Fosters a deep, personal sense of place and an ethical commitment to the environment.
- Holistic Development – Supports the College’s framework by explicitly encouraging social and emotional growth outside of traditional classroom settings.
- Lifelong Health – Instills positive habits and behaviours that support personal health and connection to nature throughout life.
