🎙️The Soul Radio concert raised the roof of the Lindsay Walker Centre last night!
Delivering a spectacular tribute to the iconic soul, gospel, blues, and Motown grooves of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, the show brought together talented performers from across both primary and secondary. The students' voices were simply outstanding, bringing legendary tunes to life with phenomenal energy and passion.
Well done to everyone involved. We couldn't be more proud of the impressive level of talent on display! ... See MoreSee Less

Students across the College recently participated in powerful assemblies dedicated to National Reconciliation Week.
Our primary students were privileged to hear from Aboriginal Education Support Officer, Ms Kaz Ross, who spoke about what it truly means to be "all in" when it comes to reconciliation. At Emmanuel, it is about establishing a climate for truth-telling, peacemaking and walking together.
Ms Ross followed up with a deeply moving address to our secondary students, focusing on the importance of story-telling in Aboriginal culture as a means of understanding another's truth.
She shared stories winding from Uncle Ray Minniecon, who was heckled whilst delivering the Acknowledgement of Country at this year's ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Sydney, to her own trip to Brazil as a 19 year old representing the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress. Through these powerful words, she reinforced that "this is how wisdom travels. Not downloaded. Not consumed. Passed between people who are truly present with one another."
Ms Ross left our community with a profound reminder of our shared responsibility moving forward: "Reconciliation lives in the hearts and hands of every Australian. That includes every person in this room. Not because you are to blame. But because you are part of the story. And the story is not yet finished."
Thank you, Ms Ross, for sharing your wisdom and guiding our students on this vital journey of learning and walking together. ... See MoreSee Less
Yesterday, our College came together to celebrate Emmanuel Day, marking 28 years since our gates first opened. We were pleased to welcome The Most Reverend Bishop Murray Harvey, Bishop of the Diocese of Grafton, to join the festivities.
We began the morning with a beautiful Liturgy, which brought the story of "Emmanuel and the Paperbark Tree" to life through dance, song and spoken word. Later, at our formal assembly, local artist Aunty Sonya Breckenridge revealed a stunning artwork she was commissioned to paint for the College: an enormous, dual-panelled piece titled "Emmanuel and the Paperbark." Rich with layers of meaning and hidden details for our community to discover, this masterpiece will hang proudly in the Joan Pickup Library as a daily reminder of our unique story and connection to this land.
A major highlight of the day was seeing our students explore this story firsthand through a series of cross campus workshops. Primary and secondary year groups paired up to weave friendship bracelets, paint stones, decorate bags and bunting and create a vibrant Emmanuel "chalk walk" (watch the video here: youtu.be/Yemm7KrSkxs).
It was a magnificent display of mentorship from our older students, leaving our College community with wonderful, lasting memories.
Thank you to everyone who made yesterday so special. Here’s to 28 years of community, connection and shared values!
We are so grateful for the many ways our families and supporters bring our College community to life!

This fantastic initiative brings together nine of our students and members from the Kokoda Village to spend quality time, share stories and participate in activities.
We are only two weeks into the six week program, but we’ve already witnessed some truly beautiful connections developing. We are so proud of our students for sharing their skills and giving back to our local community.
Yesterday at midday, our library was filled with excitement as we joined over two million children across Australia for ALIA's National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!
Together, we shared the wonderful Australian picture book Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson, Adrian Lloyd and Jake Minton. Our students loved cheering on Luna and her outback team as they learned all about courage, self-belief, teamwork and pushing through tough challenges.
We love this event and the joy it brings to our library each year; reminding us of the essential role libraries play in nurturing learning, connection and a love of stories. ... See MoreSee Less
