Academic Opportunities

At Emmanuel Anglican College,  we believe in nurturing the whole student and our academic clubs and competitions are designed to challenge, inspire and develop critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills beyond the regular curriculum. These programs provide students with engaging ways to explore their academic passions.

A selection of our academic co-curricular opportunities:

Chess

Chess offers a timeless way for students to enhance their logical reasoning, strategic planning, and focus. Whether your child is a beginner learning the rules or an advanced player looking for competitive challenge, our dedicated staff members provide a supportive and stimulating environment.

FIRST LEGO League

FIRST LEGO League is a thrilling global STEM program that ignites student interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. It introduces students to real world engineering and research challenges through a powerful, project based approach. Working in teams, students become young scientists and engineers.

They design, build, and program a LEGO robot to complete complex missions on a themed playing field, while also developing an innovative solution to a real world problem.

The program consists of three progressive divisions: Discover, Explore and Challenge. Through all phases, students work in teams to become young scientists and engineers: they design, build and program a LEGO robot while developing an innovative solution to a real world problem.

Program Components:

  • Robot Game (Engineering & Coding): In the Challenge division, teams utilise computational thinking and mechanical design to build and program an autonomous robot to score points.
  • Innovation Project (Science & Technology): Teams conduct in depth scientific research on an annual theme and use the engineering design process to develop and present an innovative solution.
  • Core Values (Collaboration): Teams practice gracious professionalism and cooperation, emphasising the vital role of teamwork and inclusion in the world of STEM.
