About Emmanuel Anglican College

Emmanuel Anglican College was established in 1998 with just 16 students. Our original site was a conference centre known as ‘Gunundi’, owned by the Anglican Church and located in East Ballina. In 2000, the College moved to its current location on Horizon Drive, West Ballina and has since grown into a vibrant community with more than 880 students ranging from Preschool to Year 12.

Renowned for academic and pastoral excellence in the Northern Rivers region, Emmanuel Anglican College consistently achieves outstanding results in external competitions, tests and examinations. This success is attributed to the personalised care and culture of learning embedded in the College’s fabric. Emmanuel Anglican College prioritises students’ unique personalities and gifts, offering a broad range of curricular and extra-curricular programs which foster exploration and growth.

With an Anglican ethos at its core, Emmanuel Anglican College emphasises the wellbeing and learning of each student. The College is committed to serving the wider community and instilling values such as confidence, resilience and independence.

Emmanuel Anglican College boasts dedicated and qualified staff who foster genuine relationships with students. Our teaching approach is innovative, future focused, challenging and enjoyable, aligning with the College’s goal of ensuring every student is highly engaged, enjoys their learning and experiences success.

The College has a beautiful physical environment which is highly conducive to learning and features contemporary facilities which support a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities. Our student body takes pride in their College, progressing from Preschool to graduation with a focus on becoming confident, articulate, resilient and independent lifelong learners.

At Emmanuel Anglican College, we recognise education is a partnership between the College and students’ families and so we encourage active involvement in College life. Our community is friendly and welcoming of new families and our ‘Friends of Emmanuel’ association diligently supports the College’s goals.

The Anglican Diocese of Grafton

The Anglican Diocese of Grafton has five Anglican schools, including Emmanuel Anglican College, created by the Diocese under the Anglican Church of Australia (Bodies Corporate) Act 1938 (NSW). Each of these schools is self-managing and operates under a similar constitution with a School Council. The school constitutions are created as an ordinance of the Diocese of Grafton.

The Grafton Anglican Schools Commission was established under a Diocese of Grafton Ordinance to assist the Diocese by providing oversight of the five Anglican schools. The Commission monitors school performance and sets policies and procedures where they are required for the Diocesan oversight or provide a useful commonality among the Anglican schools. The Commission also fosters cooperation between schools.
